Předmět je koncipován jako praktický. Seznamuje studenty se základy rétoriky. V předmětu jsou komentovány a ilustrovány vybrané zásady rétoriky, které patří do všech hlavních složek této disciplíny.

Cílem předmětu je seznámit se základy rétoriky. Seznámit s technikou výslovnosti, s významem prvního dojmu a zaujetí posluchačů a vést k používání nabytých dovedností a znalostí při výkonu profese i mimo ni.
