Course objectives (in Czech)
Předmět je koncipován jako teoretický, umožňuje studentům získat poznatky o genetických informacích a metodách asistované reprodukce, o prevenci vrozených vad, pochopení základních principů genetiky, principů dědičnosti na úrovni molekul, buněk a organismů, zvláště s důrazem na lidskou genetiku. Součástí obsahu jsou i základní soubory genetických vad, metody genetického screeningu a hodnocení genetických rizik včetně genetického poradenství.

Cílem předmětu je seznámit s historií oboru genetika, s teoretickými základy genetiky, s vlivem exogenních faktorů prostředí na změny genetické informace. Objasnit význam geneticky podmíněných onemocnění ve vztahu ke zdravotnímu stavu populace.
